This movie will bring together Suresh Gopi, Kunchakko Boban and Kalabhavan Mani in the lead roles. Narrating a village based humorous story about the instances in the life of a lazy postman, the movie will also relaunch Meera Nandan as the heroine. Also in the cast are Innocent, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Salim Kumar and Bijukuttan and Archana kavi.
Oridathoru Postman tells the story of Raghunandan (Kunchacko Boban). Raghu, who is a native of Chenankuzhi village is the son of Gangadharan (Innocent), the village postman. Gangadharan is a lazy man who is notorious for making serious lapses in his duty.
He is even known to have handed over money orders to people whom he likes. The problem is that it is Raghu who often bears the brunt of his father’s actions.
Raghu on the other hand is a far cry from his father. He is quite hard working and does any job that comes his way. He works as a Postman at times, canvasses for mutual funds and even teaches at a PSC exam coaching class. And he is also in love with Usha (Meera Nandan), his student.
Raghu is adored by the villagers, and he plays the mediator in most of the village’s major issues. In one such attempt to bring peace, he meets Yasin Mubarak (Sarath Kumar) and this meeting changes his life forever.
Shaji Azeez, who had earlier directed ‘Shakespeare M A Malayalam’ along with Shaiju turns independent director with ‘Oridathoru Postman’. The film has been scripted by K Gireesh Kumar who had scripted the hugely successful ‘Veruthe Oru Bharya’.
The music of the film has been composed by Mohan Sitara, and the lyrics are by Kaithapram and Anil Panachooran.
Produced by Shaji and Basheer under the banner of Nila Creations, ‘Oridathoru Postman’ would shortly make it to the theatres.
Oridathoru Postman’, directed by Shaji Azeez, is film full of humor set in the backdrop of a village. The film deals with the seemingly dtrane but intimate relationship between a father and his son, played by Innocent and Kunchako Boban respectively.
K Gireesh Kumar, of ‘Veruthe Oru Bharya’ and ‘Samasthakeralam P O’ fame is in charge of the script. Anand Balakrishnan is the cameraman while Mohan Sithara sets to tune the lyrics penned by Anil Panachooran.
This is the first independent film by Shaji Azeez. He was one of the directors of Jayasurya starrer ‘Shakespeare MA Malayalam’.
The members of the cast include Archana Kavi, Meera Nandan, Kalabhavan Mani, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Salim Kumar, Jaffer Idukki and Bijukuttan.
