Sasi Kumar has raised many an eyebrow in Kollywood by purchasing the Madurai area’s distribution rights of the film Kathai. This talented actor-director-producer-distributor’s keen interest in Kathai, which has newbie Shan Kumar as hero, has raised the expectation levels for this film.

The Story : Kathai is all about a Booker Prize winner and the incidents that happen in his life.

Kathai is produced by Rajan Radhakrishnan and directed by Abhishek, who had directed the critically acclaimed Mogamul. The promos of Dayanidhi Alagiri’s production venture ‘Thamizh Padam’ have kindled curiosity. Being claimed as a first full-length spoof on the Tamil film industry, the movie’s ads on newspapers have its ‘hero’ Siva in the costumes of some popular heroes.

Speaking about the film, Dayanidhi says, “It is a complete laugh- riot and a celebration of Tamil cinema. It is something like Hollywood’s hot shot or scary movies. However, despite being a spoof it does not offend anyone.”

Directed by ad filmmaker-turned-director Amudhan, the movie has been shot fully in ‘Red One’ camera with Nirav Shah taking care of the cinematography. Kannan debuts as the music director.

Asal movie story is almost out that first ajith who loves Guantanamera cigars will be a don dealing with international smuggling; incidentally the whole group was murdered. In that situation the second Ajith will appear on the screen to find out the mystery behind the murder.

Yet the remaining part of the movie is kept secret that second Ajith may be a police officer or detective or a person following vengeance for his beloved ones.

If there is one person other than Ajith who can make the actor’s fans happy, it is none other than Saran. Whenever the filmmaker joined hands with the ‘Ultimate Star’, the output was a blockbuster.

Fourth in the line from the duo (after Kadhal Mannan, Amarkkalam and Attagasam) is Asal, a movie produced by Sivaji Films, one of the reputed production houses in Tamil industry. The action-entertainer has two heroines- Sameera Reddy and Bhavana.

Asal’s success was predicted by Superstar Rajinikanth at the launch of the movie itself. The top actor, who was the chief guest of the function said, “When I was down after ‘Baba’ debacle, Ramkumar and Prabhu, sons of Sivaji Ganesan, did ‘Chandramukhi’ with me. The rest is all history. I hope that ‘Asal’ would repeat the magic of Chandramukhi”.

Ask Saran about the film, he says, “Asal is an Asal Thala film and Asal commercial film. It will be a glossy mass entertainer, with all necessary ingredients that an Ajith film need. I am sure that the movie would satisfy the fans of the actor.”

Ajith, who of late believes in making his films to do the talking, says, “The script is so interesting. Equally is the making of Saran. We all are putting our best efforts to make ‘Asal’ a thorough entertainer.”

Music composer of the movie Bharadwaj says, “The highlight of the album is the introduction song of Ajith, sung by 100 people together. Since it is a film to be shot predominantly abroad, I have not opted for ‘kuthu’ numbers. Instead, they will be trendy.”

He adds: “All my songs in Ajith – Saran combination (Kadhal Mannan, Amarkalam and Attagasam) have topped the charts. The onus is on me to deliver this time too.” The onus is equally on Ajith-Saran too, you can say.

After churning out 9 successful films, the duo combo Sarath Kumar- K.S. Ravikumar is all set to strike with “Jaggubhai’. Unlike their previous films, “Jaggubhai’ will be a new-fangled flick from K.S. Ravikumar featuring Sarath Kumar in an exceptional role.
It’s worth mentioning that K.S. Ravikumar wanted to make this film with superstar Rajnikanth in lead role. Since, the storyline was quite similar to Rajnikanth starrer “Baasha’, the project was dropped and later Sarath Kumar replaced him.

Major portion of the film has been shot in foreign locations and director K.S. Ravikumar has used latest technical advancements to shoot the film stylishly. The film features Sarath Kumar in lead role with actress Shriya Charan enacting his daughter’s role. Buzzes are that the film is inspired from Hollywood’s action-packed thriller “TAKEN’.
According to the sources, the film is about an Interpol officer (Sarath Kumar) leading a happy life with his daughter (Shriya Charan). “Jaggubhai’ was supposed to hit screens before K.S. Ravikumar’s other film “Aadhavan’, but got stalled due to unknown reasons.

The movie is about a father-daughter relationship and Sarathkumar is appearing in two roles, as everyone expect, one as the father of the heroine and other as a young man’
Jaggubhai starring Sarath Kumar and Shriya Saran in the lead. Jagannathan, (Sarath Kumar) fondly known as ‘Jaggubahi’. is an Indian Police Officer with sharp methods. His way of dealing the criminals strikes terror in the underground world. Tough is just an ordinary word to describe this upright, straight forward police officer.

Jaggubhai is sent to Australia on an important mission to deal with anti social elements there. In Australia, Jaggubai meets Meena (Srisha) and they both fall in love with each other. Jaggubai fails in his mission for which he came to Australia and the brief romance with Meena also ends abruptly. Jaggubai returns to India as a dejected officer failing in his official duty and in personal life.
But fate had something in store for him. Twenty years later he gets a call from Australia stating that Meena is dead and has left him a will. He reaches Australia and is shocked to know that the brief encounter with Meena had resulted in a daughter ‘Nikki’ (Shriya Saran), now a teenager. Jaggubai realises that has left behind his daughter and her wish that Jaggubhai should protect her.
Nikki thinks that he is mother’s friend and tries to act cranky. Threat comes in the form of some anti social elements who want to eliminate Nikki. These thugs were the same ones who had tricked Jaggubai some 20 years earlier. Now, it is Jaggubai’s duty to save his only daughter and settles old scores with the thugs. He now meets his former colleague Mani (Goundamani). With his help he overcomes the crisis and eventually finds out why Meena left him and the reason for bringing him back into his daughter’s life.
